Museu Etnográfico (Rua 5 de Julho, Praia, Santiago) – located near Praça Alexandre de Albuquerque, this museum was established in 1997 to illustrate the life of Cape Verdeans throughout history. The over 400 artifacts shown here include objects & tools used by the country’s rural population in its daily agrarian work. Admission: 100 Escudos (free for students). Hours: 8:30 am – 5 pm (Monday – Friday). Guided tours available in Portuguese, (Cape Verdean) Crioulo, English, and French.
